Most of the photos here have been kindly loaned to the Club by Liz Kavanagh. Her father, J. Kavanagh was a founder Member of the Phoenix C.C. and is featured in a number of the photos. There is also a shot of Stan Brittain in action during the Tour de France 1958 taken by another club member Jim Nevinson. click on photo for larger view.

The photographabove is an excellent shot of Stan Brittain
during the climb of the Col d'Iozard in the 1958 Tour de France.
Stan, was part of an International team comprising of four riders from the UK, four from Denmark,two from Portugal and the remaing two from Austria. The amazing photograph was taken by our own intrepid Mr Jim Nevinson.

Here are the links to a long lost article relating to the Peace race of 1957. Our own Stan Brittain played a big part in this race and had a very successful outcome.
