The Phoenix arrived from all quarters on mass to watch the
second stage of the 2006 Tour of Britain finish in Liverpool city centre today.
A couple of beers before the peleton
arrived ensured the silly
hats were in place on Dave and Kieran. We also had the pleasure of seeing
Andy following on after
the bunch had finished. Don't know how he got past the barriers and the armed
guards.
Roger Hammond, the
Capt. of the Great Britain Team, won the stage in a sprint finish.
Aart Vierhouten (Skil-Shimano) was second and Russell
Downing (Recycling.co.uk) third.
