On Sunday in the National 25 T.T. Arthur produced a person best time 1:00:16, tonight he smashed his PB by almost a minute with a fabulous time of 0:59:20 and in doing so he has joined the elite club of 'under the hour' riders. Terry, still improving, produced yet another personal best of 1:00:38 and is getting closer to joining the same elite group of riders. The night was very warm with a SLIGHT BREEZE, which made the going equally hard in either direction. The only really fast bit was back from the lighthouse to the finish.The fastest speeds
were recorded here and most crossed the finishing line at 30+ mph except for Kieran who was registering his worst time ever for a 25, which was looking like 1:07:?? and so coasted home feeling rather disheartened. BUT he had misread his computer readout and his actual time, considering his lack of enthusiasm during the last few miles was a very reasonable 1:03:16.

Very windy from the east: tugging at the front wheel, which made the handling quite tricky in places. Tough all the way with the exception of the run in to the finish. Force 5 following wind, Arthur recorded over 36mph near the finish and others were not far off that speed. Once again Arthur was untouchable and on this difficult evening still managed to go under the hour. Terry was scratching at Arthur's heels but a shade further away tonight although a strong ride finishing in second place. A good third place for Kieran, not so relaxed as in the previous 25 but somehow managed to go back 32 seconds for his efforts. John's power won the day for the fourth place, overhauling a 40 second gain Keith managed to make on him for most of the race but faded during run up to the church with John finishing 7 seconds ahead.

The rain didn't arrive until we had finished, quite lucky in that respect but unlucky in another, it was probably blown away by the gale. Although helping at the start, for most of the race it was side on.
Arthur again supreme but ever closer was Terry, tonight he was just 31 seconds away from his quarry. Improved times also for John and Kieran but Keith struggled to maintain form and was disappointed with his time, partly due to:- 1. not using his time trial helmet and 2.sitting on a rolled up sock for most of the race (or so it seemed).
No other excuses so I'll finish...
