I think everyone is in agreement that tonight was not the best of nights for time trialing, but at least it stayed dry and we had some brightness, but all these good points were cancelled out by the biting cold strong S. Westerly wind, much stronger than last Tuesday. Temp was 10C, with wind chill about 3C.
Difficult all the way around with no great advantage anywhere for the
depleted turnout of just Steve and Keith.
Our ever present photographer, Keith L and the Gang at the Rainford Island braved the cold to support and cheer us on.
Terry also appeared, with his pick and shovel, to say hello but soon disappeared with the chain gang...(see photo below)
Back in the cafe a much welcomed cuppa was perfectly poured by the tea lady, Mrs Joan haventigotabigteapot (see photo below)

First ten of 2008 and the finest day this year. Yes, the sun was out and we had 16 deg C with warm steady SW wind. Some say there was no gain but it was less of a grovel back from the Rainford Island and a very fast finish.
The four Phoenix riders, Steve, Arthur, Kieran and Keith had support from Wellheld, Steve Jones and Keith, our website photographer.
Arthur, keen to get back home to watch Liverpool's own goal against Chelsea in the semi final of the Champions League, flew around in 23:03 and then just as quickly disappeared to watch the match, (we were pre warned that he would be doing a vanishing act).
Good ride Arthur (Shame about the team!!).
Some of the official times were a bit out of sync. with the actual times. My time of 23:15 would have been my PB but I was sure that was not the case so I had a minute added as did the number 3 rider.
Not to be outdone Docker was just as quick in trying to get a minute knocked off his time but Joan soon dispelled his high hopes and he slunk away with a 'hair' of disappointment..
Time: AW 23:03, KW 24:15, KL 25:02, SD 27:25
