Sunny again but a not so nice south easterly breeze welcomed the return of
the Mallorcan wet, stung and fitter ?? racing trio. Docker and Sam are still
soberering up!!
The Phoenix trio had unusual starting positions due to us all signing on at
the same time and the organisers not allowing our normal 2 minute gap.
I was off number 13,Arthur 14 and Kieran 15.
Arthur rode an inspired ride of 23:00 and was applauded by our spectators
Dave Massen and Wellheld Thelkeld (once more regaining his title of bike handler
of the year by controlling a 55kph front wheel blow out whilst descending
a mountain in Mallorca).
Keith :24:30 Kieran 25:04 (still not up to full race fitness following a stuffy
head cold).
Sorry, no photos, just the results.

The great gang of Phoenix C.C. spectators were feeling the chill of the cool
evening air but they were in fine voice, cheering and encouraging the Phoenix
3 as they went past. Their support was very welcome and spurred us on to a
faster ride.
The weather was holding up for Arthur Steve and Keith, a slight S.Easterly
pushed us some of the way towards the Motorway island but never really helped
anywhere else but a favourable night overall.
Arthur had not fully recovered from his epic ride on Sunday in the Yorkshire
Dales and as a consequence went back a few seconds; although to mere humans
23:34 would be a breathtaking time to enjoy.
Steve, still fighting a bug was back with a vengeance and produced his best
time of the season.
It looks like Kieran will be taking a break for a while to enjoy his cycling
in other ways than time trialing but we hope to still see him out on Tuesdays
with the supporters club.

The sixth ten already...but the weather isn't six times
warmer, feeling more like early April. Arm warmers on again for the riders
and winter coats for the officials and supporters.
Arthur sensibly giving tonight a miss after his 100
time trial on BH Monday (in that wind!!!), so it was down to me and Steve
to fly the colours.
Although there wasn't much of a breeze it wasn't friendly and we both went
back a few seconds from last Tuesday's times.
Thanks to Wellheld, Butty and the Massen The Phoenix
groupies were out on the course cheering us on; their encouragement helped
me gain that extra second to win on the night and walk away with the star
prize, a nice shiny BMW 320i..... (in my dreams)
Sorry no photos, the official Keith was otherwise engaged
and the unofficial Keith's batteries went dead (not the first battery to let
me down in the last few days) but that's another story.
Results here for the full field of 7 riders.
