Bobby Lloyd Cup ten mile TT - 7th July 2009
The Bobby Lloyd cup tonight and it was much cooler than of recent days, dull but dry and also blowing a gale.
The riders were a bit apprehensive about the race due to the howling wind, which made it a difficult run up the the motorway but missile attack speed back towards the Wheatsheaf and beyond.
After the turn we experienced the expected grovel back to the lane then a reasonable run to the finish, not easy but not a brick wall head wind either.
Arthur surprised himself tonight with an all time Tuesday evening PB of 22:24.
(His all time PB is 21:55, set only last Thursday on this course)
According to the records it also is the fastest ever for a Tuesday Ten, knocking Mr. Massen's 22:33 2002 time off the top spot by 9 seconds, but Mr.Massen was in some doubt as to the time keepers accuracy and thought a more acceptable time should have been 23:24!!! bad egg Dave..(Joking apart, handshakes were exchanged in recognition of Arthur's tremendous effort)

21st July 2009
A bit of a change from last Tuesday. Tonight was blowing a gale intermixed with showers but quite warm. Not expecting brilliant times everybody struggled against the head wind. Wellheld achieving an excellent result, 24:04 on his magically acquired and super fast top spec machine. Well done Sir, you deserve the yellow jersey.
Still with aching legs from his epic 4:12:27 100 mile time trial on Sunday, Arthur braved the conditions to give it a go. Admitting later that it was his most difficult 10 of the season, he still managed to come out on top of the list with a time of 22:59. Remarkable..
Keith didn't manage to match last week's season's best but overall he was not unduly disappointed with his 25:07.
Thanks to the lads on the top island for the encouragement as we gingerly circumnavigated the slippery roundabout. They also took a battering from the wind and rain.
Thanks also to Keith Linge for the super photos taken in some very changeable conditions.

14th July 2009
Following a torrential thunderstorm the skies cleared, the wind vanished and we had THE most perfect night of the season.
The fastest times this year by all and yet another Tuesday PB for Arthur.
Thanks to the lads up on the top Island for the cheers of encouragement knowing that the next thunderstorm wasn't very far away and not a brolly between them (unless George had one hidden in his stick).
Sorry no photos tonight but I have redesigned the results table to include both the Tens Series and the Handicap Series on one page.
Might be a bit confusing but give it a try. The original versions are here for backup
