Mid Shropshire Wheelers open 25 April 24th 2011
Having just returned from Majorca I'm struggling to recall exactly what happened on the 24th. Here we go, It was a Sunday and Arthur collected me early. So early in fact I didn't get to finish my important first cup of tea. It was about 5.45am the sky was clear but the temperature cool.
Arthur was off at 9.26am and my start was slightly earlier at 9.15. We arrived ridiculously early and went for a cup of tea at the transport cafe (Prees Heath). Looking back this was a great way to relax, a welcome distraction from the 25 Miles that lay ahead. For me feeling relaxed at the start of a 25 is uncommon, this is only my third attempt at this distance.
Two cups of tea and a quick warm up later, the countdown began. I'll spare you my state of mind on the way round but I was going ok and I managed to take a quick snap of Arthur as I returned to HQ.
After a quick change, We had more tea and one of the best bacon and egg sarnies I've had in a long time. The results were in and we were off home. How did we do? I think we did alright!
SR
Arthur got 58.56 and I got 55.52.
